A day at the bench

An interactive page that squeezes weeks of waiting at the bench into one day you can play through.
This is a page you can play through. You write a tag into a gene, pipette small volumes into a plate, look at cells I grew under a microscope, and read a simulated qPCR run. Each step is a small version of something I do in the lab, and the weeks of waiting between them are squeezed into one day.
The microscope pictures are mine, of HCT116 cells, with brightness adjusted for display. The scores and qPCR curves are synthetic, and the gene sequence is invented apart from the FLAG tag.
